While looking for a piece of the South in our country, the client stumbled upon a small forest of pine trees, the type of conifers you also frequently see on the Mediterranean coast. The forest became the starting point for a design with a Southern feel.
This single-story home is built to create a waterfall of spaces with a maximum view of the pine trees. Here the sun shines generously through the large windows and the patio, but the interior structure ensures that not everything is revealed at first glance.
As in the South, pronounced curves were amply used for the walls, awnings and windows as well as for the surrounding greenery.
The landscape is slightly sloping, so the house lies a little higher. The colour of the warm lime plaster is an extension of the tree trunks; the bronzed steel, dark-brown awnings and wood are also linked to the hues visible around the house.
Last but not least, that little piece of the South has also been captured in the cleverly positioned terrace by the swimming pool, where you look out over the vast landscape but still sit completely sheltered from the wind.

Op zoek naar een stukje zuiden in ons land botste de bouwheer op een klein bos met pijnbomen, het type naaldbomen dat je ook veelvuldig aan de mediterraanse kust ziet. Het bos werd het vertrekpunt voor een ontwerp met zuiderse feel.
Deze gelijkvloerse woning is als een waterval van ruimtes met maximaal zicht op de pijnbomen. Hier valt de zon royaal binnen langs de grote ramen en de patio, tegelijk zorgt de structuur er binnenin voor dat niet alles van bij de eerste blik wordt weggegeven. Net als in het zuiden werd er extra veel met uitgesproken rondingen gewerkt, zowel voor de muren, de luifels en de ramen als voor het omringende groen.
Het landschap is lichtjes glooiiend, zodat de woning wat hoger komt te liggen. De kleur van de warme kalkpleister ligt in het verlengde van de boomstammen; ook het gebronzeerde staal, de donkerbruine luifels en het hout linken aan de tinten rondom de woning. Dat kleine stukje zuiden zit tot slot ook in het slim gepositioneerde terras bij het zwembad waar je, met zicht op het weidse landschap, toch volledig ontsnapt aan de wind.
